Vehicle Examinations

GSXR1000K4

Mark at 568 Motorcycles is a Police trained vehicle examiner who, in a former life, specialised in locating and identifying stolen motorcycles, not all of which can be tracked down by paperwork alone. As the years progressed he also became involved in collision investigation, so he has a good eye for crashed and repaired vehicles as well as gaining insider knowledge about dangerous or potentially costly shortcuts undertaken by some individuals, so they can make vast profits on machinery of dubious origin, many of which simply shouldn't be on the road.

If you are buying a motorcycle and would like a professional second opinion (or first opinion if you are unable to view the bike at all) he is able to travel to the location of that machine and carry out a full examination including a physical identity check to ascertain that the motorcycle’s identity has not been interfered with. A test ride can also be carried out if the bike appears safe and the current owner agrees. A full written report of condition, roadworthiness and any faults found, as well as aspects of particular merit will be provided as part of this service, which will also include confirmation of identity as appropriate. It will then be up to you to decide whether to proceed with any purchase and how much to pay the vendor. You will now be armed with the information you need to make this important decision (and perhaps to negotiate a lower price based on the findings!).

Bespoke vehicle examinations are, by their very nature, individual and personal to the customer, so this will need to be discussed with Mark in advance to see if he can help. As a rule of thumb, one-way recorded mileage to the motorcycle from MK44 1EB will be charged at £2.20 per mile, and the examination itself will cost £80. You are also welcome to bring a bike to 568 motorcycles for an examination under the same terms, but obviously without any mileage cost. This service could save you an absolute fortune on your next motorcycle – stolen bikes bought in good faith are invariably seized by police once discovered and handed over to the insurance company that probably owns them by now, without any compensation for the unknowing purchaser (you). That’s right, not a bean do you get back.

Turn around on examination info/reporting is same day or at the time, depending on customer requirements.
